PNHA General Membership Meeting
Thursday January 8, 2009
Held at Pitzer's Crooked Creek Inn
Ford City, PA
Time: Social 6:30 p.m. Meeting at 7:00 p.m.
Our guest speaker will be
Jessica Schaub from the Armstrong Conservation District of the County Animal Response Teams (CART). CART is the most critical aspect of Pennsylvania's SART program.
Large Animal Response Training is a key part of this program.
Animal emergencies create danger for animals and their owners. Lack of preparation often leads to unnecessary tragedy, human injury, and economic loss. Pennsylvania is home to millions of agricultural and domestic animals. SART encourages all horse owners to evacuate with their animals to prevent endangering human and animal lives. If evacuation is not possible, developing alternative plans to provide for the safety of your horses need to be developed and put in writing. By remembering to include your horses as part of your family's emergency evacuation plan, you can avoid those last minute decisions that could endanger the safety of your family and horses.
Join us at our first meeting of 2009 to learn more about CART in our communities. A brief membership meeting will immediately follow.
Happy New Year!!!
