John's extraordinary ability to inspire and teach people how to become partners

with their horses has launched a global training career that has spanned over 25 years.

After a successful show career and gaining practical horse knowledge on his Colorado

cattle ranch, John began giving training clinics and symposiums in 1980. With a background

 in education, he recognized people were eager for help with their horses, and developed

 an extremely successful, solid training program that is unsurpassed. As a pioneer in the

clinician movement, John has been instrumental in changing the horse industry, forever.

Many of today's training principals found their roots in John's common-sense approach

 to people and horses. His philosophy on the snaffle bit influenced positive changes in the

 horse show circuit. His teaching methods have continually evolved over the years as a

result of working with his best teachers - thousands of horses. His son Josh follows

 in his father's footsteps. Continuing the legacy, Josh has made a name for himself

 in his own right as a respected horseman and clinician.

John and his wife Jody live in Parachute, CO on "Our Dream Ranch".

Together they have seven children and ten grandchildren. One might ask what to expect

 from John and Jody in the future.

Two words sum it up -  "Stay Tuned".

Please don't miss the opportunity to see this exceptional and  highly respected equestrian educator.

John will be conducting two demonstrations on Saturday and Sunday.

Please join us on Sunday morning  for Cowboy Church.

* Starting the Unbroke Horse

A good solid foundation of training priniciples is the best start for an unbroke horse. The safest way to accomplish this goal starts on the ground with a few simple rules. A safe horse starts with a simple to follow step by step process.

* Continuing with the Unbroke Horse

You ride the horse you lead. Total control must be gained on the ground before you ever get into the saddle.

Total control is the single most important aspect of horse training. John will demonstrate and show you how.

* Cowboy Church

"Will God Forgive Me?"

* Speed & Directional Control, Transitions, & Collective Distractions

Whether your horse seems to go too fast or too slow, speed and directional control go hand in hand. The basic steps can be taught and once mastered, each builds upon the other and you can get the direction, the speed and maintain that speed. When taught in sequence, it makes sense to both you and your horse. John will also show you how to keep your horse's attention.

* Trailer Loading and Problems

Teaching your horse to walk correctly into a trailer. Dealing with the many ways a horse can think of to avoid loading.
